Since our service area is primarily
rural, special accommodations are made for provision of services
outside of the traditional office. All services are strictly
confidential.
Our professional staff are an integral
part of the community and regularly consult with other community
members also involved in the welfare of individuals served,
including Department of Human Services staff, school staff,
ministers, family members, probation officer, States Attorney,
lawyers, police department, etc....
When psychotropic medication
evaluation/prescription services are needed, individuals who are
receiving other behavioral health services are referred by their
direct service providers to our contractual psychiatrist at the
Wabash County Medical Center. Direct service providers routinely
consult with the psychiatrist regarding patient's care and progress
to maintain continuity of care.
Program provides recovery and
resiliency focused services to individuals aged 18 and over.
Services consist of therapy/counseling (individual, family, or
group), case management, community support, medication
prescription monitoring/training and consultation. Services may
be provided in the office, or in the individual's natural
setting (home and/or in the community).
Program deals with unique needs of this population.
Involvement in all aspects of treatment by parents is of extreme
importance.
Program services are provided on a 7
day per week, 24 hour basis to individuals who are experiencing
a psychiatric crisis and a high level of personal distress. The
purpose is to provide brief, immediate treatment to reduce
symptoms, stabilize and restore the individual to a previous
level of role functioning and to assist the individual in
functioning in the community.
Services are provided on a face-to-face
or personal contact basis. Services are often provided in the
community such as the jail or hospital. Immediate preliminary
assessment is followed by brief, immediate therapy. Referral,
linkage and consultation are also provided.
Crisis assessment ensures the
appropriateness of admission for psychiatric hospitalization by
examining and exhausting all other less restrictive alternatives
available to meet the individual's needs.
Crisis intervention staff have
experience and acuity in mental health assessment, crisis
intervention techniques and effective clinical decision making
under emergency conditions.
During work hours, crisis services are
provided by designated staff. After regular work hours,
crisis services are accessed by leaving a message at 263-HELP
(4357). The call will be returned by an on-call counselor.
