Crisis Services

All programs provide outpatient assessment, treatment and rehabilitative services, with a focus on recovery and are designed to benefit the following individuals:

bullet

with current symptoms of mental illness who require an assessment to determine the need for mental health treatment and/or rehabilitation; or

bullet

who are assessed to require medically necessary mental health treatment and/or rehabilitation services to promote growth and/or maintenance of age appropriate or independent role functioning; or

bullet

who are experiencing a substantial change/deterioration in age appropriate or independent role functioning, a high level of personal distress and who require crisis intervention services to achieve stabilization; or

bullet

who, because of substantial impairment in role functioning, require multiple coordinated rehabilitative services delivered in a variety of settings, on an emergency or non-emergency basis.

Since our service area is primarily rural, special accommodations are made for provision of services outside of the traditional office. All services are strictly confidential.

Our professional staff are an integral part of the community and regularly consult with other community members also involved in the welfare of individuals served, including Department of Human Services staff, school staff, ministers, family members, probation officer, States Attorney, lawyers, police department, etc....

When psychotropic medication evaluation/prescription services are needed, individuals who are receiving other behavioral health services are referred by their direct service providers to our contractual psychiatrist at the Wabash County Medical Center. Direct service providers routinely consult with the psychiatrist regarding patient's care and progress to maintain continuity of care.

Adult Services

Program provides recovery and resiliency focused services to individuals aged 18 and over. Services consist of therapy/counseling (individual, family, or group), case management, community support, medication prescription monitoring/training and consultation. Services may be provided in the office, or in the individual's natural setting (home and/or in the community).

Child and Adolescent Services

Program deals with unique needs of this population.  Involvement in all aspects of treatment by parents is of extreme importance.

Crisis Services

Emergency Crisis Assessment /Referral Services are provided on a seven day per week, twenty-four hour basis to assess the need for inpatient hospitalization in cases where mental illness is resulting in imminent harm to individuals or others.

If psychiatric hospitalization is deemed necessary, attempts are made to secure admission at local psychiatric units or psychiatric state hospital.

Assessment is provided on a face-to-face basis.  After hours services are provided only in the local emergency room.

Crisis assessment ensures the appropriateness of admission for psychiatric hospitalization by examining and exhausting all other less restrictive alternatives available to meet the individual's needs.

During work hours, crisis services are provided by designated staff.  After regular work hours, individuals needed emergency crisis services should go to local emergency room.  For assistance in getting there, local law enforcement may be called as well at the following numbers:  262-4186 or 262-4114.
