Crisis Services

| Emergency Crisis Assessment /Referral Services are provided on a seven day per week, twenty-four hour basis to assess the need for inpatient hospitalization in cases where mental illness is resulting in imminent harm to individuals or others.
If psychiatric hospitalization is deemed necessary, attempts are made to secure admission at local psychiatric units or psychiatric state hospital. Assessment is provided on a face-to-face basis. After hours services are provided only in the local emergency room. Crisis assessment ensures the appropriateness of admission for psychiatric hospitalization by examining and exhausting all other less restrictive alternatives available to meet the individual's needs.
During work hours, crisis services are provided by designated staff. After regular work hours, individuals needed emergency crisis services should go to local emergency room. For assistance in getting there, local law enforcement may be called as well at the following numbers: 262-4186 or 262-4114. |
