Nuisance Program

Nuisance complaints are investigated in accordance with the Wabash County Refuse and Nuisance Ordinance. Complaints are evaluated for the potential health hazard and/or violation of the ordinance. When a valid complaint is filled, the property owner is notified and given a corrective time period. If the owner fails to correct the nuisance, the case is referred to the Wabash County State's Attorney or enforcement. Our division will refer the public to other agencies for complaints not covered by our Ordinance.

Vector Control Program

The Environmental Health Division provides consultation and education to the public on mosquito prevention and control. From May 1st to October 1st, the division participates in the Illinois Department of Public Health's West Nile Virus Surveillance Program.
