WABASH COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER

In an effort to expand primary care access in Wabash County to Medicaid eligible, non-insured and/or indigent individuals, the Wabash County Medical Center was formed in June, 1997 and certified by the Department of Health and Human Services as a Rural Health Clinic in July, 1997. The medical Center is currently housed at 1001 Market St. in Mt. Carmel.

Working under the direction of a Pediatrician and a General Practice Physician, the Family Nurse Practitioner has the ability to treat clients for acute illness, well child exams, school and work physicals, chronic illnesses and other primary care needs. Some services are also directly provided on a part-time basis through contractual arrangements with our Physician's.

While the clinic was originally opened to provide care for the underserved population, it can accommodate the everyday medical needs of the community.
